Free MT4/MT5 EA News Filter: How the NinjaBull API Works

Forex FanClub

The NinjaBull API gives your MT4/MT5 EA a free news filter for gold and Bitcoin. One GET request returns BUY, SELL or WAIT with a score from 0 to 100.

All details checked on 19 October 2026

Your EA trades on what it sees on the chart, and economic news such as US jobs data or a central bank decision never reaches the code. The NinjaBull API adds that news side as one signal your EA can read. NinjaBull is one of the free tools ForexFanClub runs.

How Can the NinjaBull API Filter Your EA’s Trades?

Your EA checks the signal before each new trade and skips the trades that go against the news. Every hour, NinjaBull’s AI reads the latest economic news and data for gold (XAU/USD) and Bitcoin (BTC/USD) and turns the result into one signal. Your technical entry rules stay the same, and the API only decides which of those trades your EA skips.

  • BUY signal
The news favours buying. Your EA takes its buy entries and skips sells.
  • SELL signal
The news favours selling. Your EA takes its sell entries and skips buys.
  • WAIT signal
The news gives no clear direction, so the EA opens no new trade.

The score from 0 to 100 shows how strongly the news leans one way. You can use it for risk control in the code. For example, your EA can skip new trades when the score is below 50. A high threshold means fewer trades, and a low threshold lets more trades through, including weaker signals. So test your threshold on a demo account before you use it with real money.

How Do You Call the NinjaBull API?

Send one GET request to the API address with two parameters, key and pair. You need no extra headers and no login. The API address is:

https://fxfan.club/en/ninjabull/api_ea.php
ItemValue
MethodGET
Authenticationkey parameter (required)
Data formatJSON
  • key
The API is still in beta, so everyone uses the same shared key, NINJABULL_VIP_2026. You do not need to register or wait for approval.
  • pair
The API works for XAU/USD and BTC/USD, written with the slash. Other pairs return an error.

A request for gold looks like this:

https://fxfan.club/en/ninjabull/api_ea.php?key=NINJABULL_VIP_2026&pair=XAU/USD

We plan to replace the shared key with a private key for each user later. So keep the key in an input variable of your EA instead of writing it into the code. When the key changes, you then change one setting and do not need to edit the EA.

What Does the NinjaBull API Return?

The API returns a short JSON response with five fields, and signal is the field your EA needs.

FieldTypeContent
pairstringTarget currency pair
scoreinteger (0-100)How strongly the news leans one way
signalstringOne of BUY, SELL or WAIT
action_enstringShort market summary for people
timestampstring (UTC)Last data update time

For example, a response for gold looks like this:

{"pair":"XAU/USD","score":85,"signal":"BUY","action_en":"Aggressive dip buying","timestamp":"2026-10-19T06:03:57Z"}

action_en is a short English summary of the market. Write it to your EA’s log, and you can later see why the EA traded or waited in each hour.

How Often Does the NinjaBull Signal Update?

The signal updates every hour. NinjaBull starts a new analysis at 3 minutes past the hour, and the result reaches the API a few minutes later. If your EA asks at exactly 3 minutes past the hour, it may still get the result from the previous hour. If it asks 10 minutes past the hour or later, it usually gets the new one.

Sometimes an hourly update is skipped, and the API then keeps the previous result. So have your EA check the timestamp field before it acts on the signal. We may also update more often in future, so keep the polling interval in an input setting too.

// Recommended: keep it external
input int API_REFRESH_MINUTES = 60; // change later as needed

If the update interval changes to 30 or 15 minutes, you then change this one setting.

What Do the NinjaBull API Errors Mean?

A 401 error means the key is wrong, and a 404 error means the pair is wrong. Trying again gives the same error, so make your EA stop calling the API and check the request.

401 Unauthorized

If the key is wrong or missing, the API returns HTTP 401 with the message “Invalid or Missing API Key”.

404 Not Found

If the pair is not XAU/USD or BTC/USD, the API returns HTTP 404 with the message “State not found”. This also happens when the slash is missing, as in XAUUSD.

Why Can the API and the NinjaBull Chat Disagree?

The chat on the NinjaBull page also weighs short-term chart movement, but the API uses the news and data only. So the chat sometimes says WAIT while the API says BUY or SELL, or the other way round.

The chat is written for people, including new traders, so it adds extra caution. Buying or selling on the news alone is risky for a new trader. Your EA already has its own chart rules, and a second set of chart rules from the API would only overlap with them. So use the API signal as the news side of the decision, and let your EA’s chart rules decide when to trade.
