LocalTime offers a high degree of flexibility in how time is displayed. You can individually toggle the visibility of year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. Installing LocalTime is quick and straightforward. First, download the MT4 or MT5 version using the buttons below. If you’re on a smartphone, please transfer the downloaded file to your PC via Google Drive or Dropbox.

Next, go to “File” >> “Open Data Folder” from the top menu of MT4/MT5. Open the “MQL4” >> “Indicators” folder (for MT4) or “MQL5” >> “Indicators” folder (for MT5) inside the data folder. Then move the downloaded file — “LocalTime.ex4” (for MT4) or “LocalTime.ex5” (for MT5) — into the “Indicators” folder.

After that, restart MT4/MT5 or refresh the Navigator. Then drag “LocalTime” from the “Indicators” section of the Navigator onto your chart. Configure the parameters in the setup screen and click “OK” — LocalTime will begin running immediately.

LocalTime offers a wide range of customisable settings via its parameter screen — from time grid display options and time source selection to interval settings, colours, fonts, and price grid configuration. Every aspect can be tailored to suit your individual trading style.

To open the parameter settings, right-click on the chart and select “Indicators List” >> “LocalTime” >> “Properties” from the context menu. The following parameter configuration screen will appear.

The most important parameters to configure are the time source type and display format. For the time source, you can choose between “MT4/MT5 Server Time” and “Local Time”. For the display format, you can freely toggle year, month, day, hour, minute, and second on or off as needed.

Other configurable options include grid display and colour settings — such as grid colours, font size, special session colour intervals, price grid display, and spacing. For high-DPI display environments, please adjust the font size accordingly.

One important point to note when using LocalTime: if local time is selected but the system cannot detect the time correctly, please set the timezone offset manually via the Time_difference parameter. Additionally, to ensure efficient grid rendering, it is recommended to limit the number of candles processed.

When using LocalTime, please hide the standard MT4/MT5 grid. To do so, right-click on the chart and select “Properties”. In the Properties window, navigate to the “Show” tab and untick “Show Grid”.

When using a high-resolution display with scaling enabled, please adjust the font size to suit your setup. LocalTime fully supports high-DPI display environments.

If LocalTime becomes unresponsive, please remove it and reinstall. If grids and text remain on the chart after removal, right-click on the chart, select “Objects List”, and manually delete all related objects.
