Which HFM Account Type Should You Choose?
For gold, the HFM Pro account costs the least of the accounts that you can open in every country, $10.44 for 1 lot after the rebate. The Unlimited account costs even less, $7.67, but HFM offers it only in some countries.
ForexFanClub also pays you a rebate on every lot that you trade at HFM, which returns part of that cost. The table shows the cost of each account before and after the rebate.
1 lot of gold (100 ounces)
| Cost before the rebate | After the rebate | |
|---|---|---|
| Premium account | $35.53 | $22.03 |
| Zero account | $19.68 | $13.38 |
| Pro account | $16.74 | $10.44 |
| Unlimited account | $10.37 | $7.67 |
On Premium you get back the largest rebate on gold. However, the spread on Premium is so much wider that the trade still costs $11.59 more than on Pro.
The cheapest account is not always the right one, though. Your deposit and what you trade also decide it.
- Trading gold
Pro is the account for you. Pro charges no commission, and on gold it costs less than Zero and Premium after the rebate, so open a Pro account (opens in a new tab) if your deposit reaches USD 100. - Unlimited in your country
Unlimited is the account for you if HFM offers it in your country. It is cheaper than Pro on gold, and you trade up to five lots in each market with almost no margin. HFM also keeps your trades open until the margin level falls to 0%. - Trading currency pairs
Pro and Zero are close. On EURUSD, Zero costs a little less, and on USDCAD, Pro costs less. If you also trade gold, the Pro account covers both well. - Starting with a small deposit
Cent lets you trade at one hundredth of the normal lot size, with no minimum deposit. It suits your first trades with real money, so open a Cent account (opens in a new tab) to start. - Deposit under USD 100
Zero has no minimum deposit, and Zero costs less than Premium on gold and on the major currency pairs. So with less than USD 100, open a Zero account (opens in a new tab) instead of Premium. - For a deposit bonus
Top-Up Bonus is the only HFM account that gives you a bonus on every eligible deposit, and it has no minimum deposit and leverage up to 1:1000. The bonus adds to your margin, so your trades stay open through larger price moves. Our HFM bonus guide shows which bonus HFM offers in your country.
You can hold several account types in one HFM Client Area. So you can start on Cent or Zero and add a Pro account later, when your deposit reaches USD 100.
What Is the HFM Unlimited Account?
The HFM Unlimited account is the cheapest HFM account on gold, $7.67 for 1 lot after the rebate, but HFM offers it only in some countries. In India it is called InfinityX and needs a minimum deposit of USD 250. In Japan it is called KATANA and needs USD 500. In other countries, check the account list on the Open Live Account screen of your Client Area.
Unlimited also works differently from the other accounts. You trade with almost no margin up to five lots in each market, which are forex, metals, stock market indices and energies. Above that size, your normal leverage applies, and you cannot change the leverage of an Unlimited account.
On Unlimited, HFM keeps your trades open until the margin level falls to 0%, and the margin call comes at 20%. So a small deposit can keep larger positions open through larger price moves than on the other accounts, and negative balance protection keeps your loss within the money in that trading account.
If your Client Area offers Unlimited, the HFM margin guide shows what Unlimited does to the margin of your trades.
Is the HFM Zero Account Cheaper Than Pro?
On gold, the HFM Zero account costs $2.94 more than Pro for 1 lot after the rebate. Zero saves you $7.06 in spread and then charges a $10 commission.
On the currency pairs, the commission is $6 a lot, and neither account is the cheapest on every pair. The table shows one pair where Zero wins and one where Pro wins.
1 lot after the rebate
| Pro account | Zero account | |
|---|---|---|
| EURUSD | $3.71 | $3.44 |
| USDCAD | $2.61 | $4.51 |
So the zero spread does not make Zero the cheapest HFM account. On three of the seven currency pairs that we measure, Zero costs less than Pro, but by $0.55 a lot at most. On USDCAD, Pro costs $1.90 less.
If you trade one currency pair most of the time, compare Zero and Pro on that currency pair in the cost panel of our HFM rebate guide, which shows the total cost after the rebate on every instrument and account. Then open the cheaper account, a Zero account (opens in a new tab) or a Pro account (opens in a new tab).
Which HFM Account Is Best for a Small Deposit?
The HFM Cent account is the best start for a small deposit, because every trade there is one hundredth of the same trade on Premium. So your profit, your loss and your cost are also one hundredth, which lets you trade with real money at a very small size.
Cent has the same spreads as Premium, and ForexFanClub pays the rebate on Cent too. You can trade only currency pairs and gold there. Our cent account comparison compares HFM Cent with the cent accounts at other brokers.
If you want normal lot sizes but have less than USD 100, choose Zero rather than Premium. Both start with no minimum deposit, and on gold Zero costs $13.38 for 1 lot after the rebate, against $22.03 on Premium.
So Premium suits one case, which is a deposit under USD 100 when you want no commission at all. Otherwise, open a Zero account (opens in a new tab), or a Pro account (opens in a new tab) once you have USD 100.
How Do the HFM Account Types Differ?
The HFM Cent, Premium, Pro and Zero accounts differ in cost, commission, minimum deposit and lot size, while the leverage, the stop out level and the smallest trade are the same. Unlimited and Top-Up Bonus have their own leverage rules.
Same on Cent, Premium, Pro and Zero
- Maximum leverage of 1:2000
- Margin call at 50% margin level
- Trades closed at 20% margin level
- Smallest trade of 0.01 lot
Different by account
- A commission on the Zero account only
- Minimum deposit of USD 100 on Pro only
- Trades one hundredth of the size on the Cent account
- Only forex and gold on the Cent account
The margin call is only a warning, and HFM closes your trades at the stop out level. So with a small balance, the stop out level decides how far gold can move against you. The HFM minimum deposit guide works out that move for a deposit of USD 10, 100 and 1,000.
How Do You Open a Second HFM Account Type?
You add a new trading account of the type you want in your HFM Client Area, and your current trading account stays as it is. The type is set when a trading account is opened, so a new trading account is the way to change it.
Log in to your HFM Client Area (opens in a new tab). The page has a Login button at the top.
Tap the menu button with three lines at the top right, and open Trading Accounts.

Choose Open Live Account. This screen shows a card for each account type, with its minimum deposit, commission and spread. HFM calls the Zero account Zero Spread on this screen.

Tap the arrow on the card that you want. Choose MT5 or MT4, the account currency and the leverage, set a password for the trading account, and press Open Account. The password needs 8 to 15 characters with upper and lower case letters, a number and a special character.
Each trading account has its own balance. So move money to the new trading account with Transfer Funds in the same menu. Before a withdrawal, you use Transfer Funds the other way, from the trading account to myWallet, and our guide to withdrawing money from HFM shows how long the withdrawal then takes.
How Do You Get a Rebate on Every HFM Account Type?
ForexFanClub pays a rebate on the HFM Cent, Premium, Pro, Zero and Unlimited accounts, if ForexFanClub is the partner of your trading account. HFM pays a set amount per lot on each instrument, and the amount depends on the account type. The HFM rebate guide shows the amount on each instrument.
To receive the rebate, register with HFM through the button below. Every trading account that you open in that Client Area then earns the rebate, whatever its type.
If you already have an HFM Client Area with another partner, you can keep it and add a new trading account through ForexFanClub instead.

Sources and how the figures are worked out
The cost of each trade
The costs are the 24-hour averages in our rebate ranking, updated on 15 October 2026 at 17:05 UTC. We read the spread separately from Premium, Pro, Zero and Unlimited MT5 accounts in US dollars and save samples at regular intervals. The commission is the amount for opening and closing 1 lot, and the rebate is what ForexFanClub pays back on the same lot. This page compares gold and seven currency pairs.
The gold rebate on Premium is $13.50 a lot during a current HFM campaign, which has no announced end date. Without the campaign, the Premium rebate on gold can go back to $10.80, and Premium still costs the most on gold. We do not measure Cent, and HFM publishes the same spreads for Cent and Premium.
The account conditions
The leverage, the margin call and stop out levels, the smallest trade and the lot size come from HFM’s account comparison table. The minimum deposit, the commission and the swap-free rows come from the Open Live Account screen of our own HFM Client Area, read on 14 October 2026 and cropped so that no account details show. The Unlimited rules come from HFM’s InfinityX and KATANA terms, and HFM shows those account pages only in the countries that offer them. The same terms include negative balance protection, and HFM can reverse a negative balance correction when the terms find prohibited trading. The swap-free status of each account comes from our HFM swap guide, and the hedging rule from the HFM FAQ.
