The With swap-free section follows the instrument coverage of the general scheme, and instruments outside that coverage show Outside the general scheme when you open the row. Your Exness Personal Area shows whether the scheme is active for you. Clients registered in an Islamic country follow separate conditions, and both sets are linked below.

Where the figures come from
We read each instrument’s swap rate, calculation method and contract size from Exness MT5 demo accounts for Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. Exness says that its demo accounts copy real trading conditions. Exness: demo trading account (opens in a new tab)
How the amounts are worked out
The tool averages the samples from the past 24 hours that carry a usable rate. From that rate, it works out the amount for your lot size in US dollars, using prices from the same account.
Where a 24-hour average is unavailable, the tool uses the latest sample, and the row reads latest sampled rate. For instruments priced in USDT, one USDT counts as one US dollar.
The result is the amount for one rollover at the normal rate. On the triple swap day, the amount is three times as large. The 30-day estimate scales the weekly schedule to 30 days at today’s rate. Your own dates and any holidays change the real figure.
Exness changes its swap rates on most trading days, and our broker changes page lists each large change.

What Does Holding Gold Overnight Cost at Exness?
At Exness, holding gold overnight usually costs nothing. Every Exness Personal Area starts with swap-free status, and gold is on the list of swap-free instruments, so you pay no swap on a gold buy or a gold sell while you keep the status.
Without the status, a 1-lot gold buy pays about $52 for each night, on all four Exness accounts. A gold sell pays no swap even without the status, so the status saves you money only on gold buys.
$52 a night is large next to the cost of the trade itself. On the cheapest Exness account, opening and closing 1 lot of gold costs about $15 in spread and commission.
So without the status, one night of swap costs more than three times the whole trade, and a week of holding comes to about $366.
1 lot for 1 night, without swap-free
| Buy position | Sell position | |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | Pays $52.32 | No swap |
| Silver | Pays $37.25 | No swap |
| EURUSD | Pays $5.69 | No swap |
| Bitcoin | Pays $17.72 | No swap |
Silver, EURUSD and Bitcoin follow the same pattern. A buy pays the swap and a sell pays nothing. All three are on the swap-free list too, so while you keep the status, these rows cost you nothing as well.
If you often hold a gold buy position overnight, keeping your swap-free status matters more than your choice of Exness account. The status saves about $52 a night on 1 lot.
Between the four Exness accounts, the cost of a gold trade differs by only about $9. The swap is the same on every account, so the spread and the commission decide which account costs less. The Exness spread page compares the four accounts on gold.
Which Exness Instruments Are Swap-Free?
Under Exness’s general swap-free status, 38 named instruments are swap-free, and so is every crypto instrument and every stock market index. The named instruments include gold, silver, oil and the major currency pairs.

Stocks, the other currency pairs, and the other metals and energies, such as natural gas (XNGUSD), still pay the swap. In the tool, each swap-free instrument carries the label Conditional swap-free. Your Exness Personal Area shows the same list on its Contract Specifications page.
To check your own status, open Exness benefits in your Exness Personal Area and select Trading conditions. The status covers your whole Personal Area, so every trading account in it has the same status. Exness: fees (opens in a new tab)
What about clients in Islamic countries?
If you register from one of 33 Islamic countries, Exness gives you a separate swap-free status automatically. The countries include Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
This status covers every instrument, including stocks and the other instruments that the tool marks Outside the general scheme. To compare these terms with other brokers, see our swap-free brokers page.
How Long Does Exness Keep You Swap-Free?
Exness does not set a number of days. The status lasts while you trade mostly during the day with few overnight orders, and Exness checks your trading activity with an algorithm to decide whether the status continues.
So what counts is how often and how much you hold overnight. Regularly holding large positions overnight can cost you the status, and Exness shows a notification in your Personal Area when your status may change.
What happens when the status ends?
Exness removes the status from all your trading accounts at once. From then on, you pay the swap on positions that are already open, as well as on new ones.
On a 1-lot gold buy, that means about $52 for every night, or about $366 a week. To see the normal swap on your own instrument, open its row in the tool and read Without swap-free.
What Is the Exness Administration Fee?
The administration fee is an extra charge on overnight positions, and Exness does not publish a fixed rule for who pays it.
Exness says its trading conditions suit clients who trade mostly within the day with few overnight orders, and it can add the fee when your overall trading activity falls outside that. So no number of days or lots tells you in advance whether you will pay the fee.
Exness tells you by email or with a notification in your Exness Personal Area when the fee applies to your trading account, and Trading conditions in your Exness Personal Area also shows it.
On gold, the fee is 250 USD per lot for each night. That is about five times the normal gold swap of about $52, so on a selected trading account, the fee costs you more each night than the normal swap.
- How it is charged
Per trading account and per lot, on each position still open after 21:00 UTC in summer or 22:00 UTC in winter, Monday to Friday. A smaller position pays in proportion. - How much
The fee is 1 to 500 USD per lot, depending on the instrument. EURUSD is 25 USD per lot, and gold (XAUUSD) is 250 USD per lot. - Where it shows
As a balance operation on the trading platform. The fee stops at your available balance, but it reduces your margin and can lead to a stop-out.
The fee can start immediately, even on positions that are already open. Exness reviews trading accounts from time to time and can remove the fee.
The tool shows the swap only, so add the fee yourself if Exness has told you that it applies.
When Does Exness Charge the Swap, and Which Day Is Triple?
Exness charges the swap on every position still open at 21:00 UTC in summer and 22:00 UTC in winter. Summer here follows US daylight saving time, from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
MetaTrader at Exness runs on UTC, and so do the times in the tool, so you can compare them directly.
On one night each week, the swap is three times the normal amount, because the triple swap covers the weekend. The day is different for each type of market.
| Markets | Triple swap day |
|---|---|
| Currency pairs, gold and silver | Wednesday |
| USDCAD | Thursday |
| Stock market indices and stocks | Friday |
| Crypto | Friday |
| Oil and gas | None |
For a 1-lot gold buy without swap-free status, Wednesday night costs about $157. A few crypto pairs, such as BTCXAU and BTCAUD, have their triple swap on Wednesday, and oil pays one swap each weekday with no triple day.
Public holidays can move the schedule. When you open a row in the tool, it shows the day when that instrument pays the triple swap.
How Do You Get a Rebate on Your Exness Trades?
The swap is only one cost of a trade. Every trade also pays the spread, and the Raw Spread and Zero accounts add a commission. The Exness spread page compares the four accounts on those costs.
ForexFanClub pays a rebate on qualifying trades at Exness, credited separately from the swap. So the amounts in the tool show your cost before the rebate.
To receive the rebate, open your Exness account through the button below. Exness then records ForexFanClub as your partner.
If you already have an Exness Personal Area, ask Exness to change your partner to ForexFanClub, then open an additional trading account after the change. The Exness rebate guide shows each step.
Exness Swap FAQ
- Is gold swap-free on Exness?
-
Gold is swap-free at Exness while you keep swap-free status, and every Exness Personal Area starts with that status.
XAUUSD, XAUEUR and XAUAUD are all on Exness’s general swap-free list. The status lasts while you trade mostly within the day, rather than for a set number of days.
If Exness selects your trading account for the administration fee, you pay 250 USD per lot for each night on gold.
- Why do the amounts in the tool differ from my statement?
-
The tool shows an estimate, not the swap that Exness actually charged you. Exness’s swap rates change during the day, so nobody can know the exact rate for tonight’s rollover in advance.
For that reason, the tool uses the average of the rates from the past 24 hours, for the lot size that you set, in US dollars and before any swap-free status.
Your statement shows what Exness actually charged for each night, in the currency of your trading account. It also shows whether swap-free applied and any administration fee.
To see which rates the estimate uses, open the row in the tool. In Rate details, check the time of the latest sample.
- What does a month of holding cost?
-
Open the row in the tool and read Without swap-free · 30-day estimate. That amount is the normal swap for 30 days at today’s rates, before any swap-free status. For a 1-lot gold buy, it is about $1,569.
Administration fees, where Exness applies them, come on top. Swap rates change from week to week, so check your trading account statement for what you actually paid.
The Rest of the Exness Numbers
The swap is one side of what a trade costs. Exness’s rebate, spread and margin pages cover the other costs, and two pages compare Exness with other brokers.
