What Should You Do When You Register with XM?
Three things decide your trading cost and how soon you can trade.
- At sign-up
In the code box, type GJQYM. Your first trading account then pays back part of every spread, for example $8.10 per lot on EURUSD. - Before verification
Two documents are needed, a proof of identity and a proof of residence. XM checks them within 24 hours, and you can trade after that. - After verification
The Standard account that XM opened at registration gets XM’s deposit bonus, so keep it. For a lower trading cost, add an Ultra Low account. The XM additional account guide shows each step.
The Ultra Low account costs less per trade, even after the rebate.
Trading cost per lot after the rebate
| Standard account | Ultra Low account | |
|---|---|---|
| EURUSD | $13.00 | $9.05 |
| Gold | $36.80 | $21.90 |
Practise on the demo account first. XM opens it when you register, and it costs nothing, so you can try MT5 and your own trading plan before you risk any money.
However, type the partner code when you register, even if you practise first. Then your first real trading account receives rebates from your first trade, and you do not need to open a new trading account later.
How Do You Register with XM?
It takes a few minutes on a phone or a computer.
Choose your country of residence. Then type your email address and a password.

Tap the Enter here link and type GJQYM in Code (Optional). Then tap Register.

Open the email from XM and confirm your email address.
Log in to the XM Members Area (opens in a new tab) with the same email and password. Then type the 6-digit code that XM sends to your email.

Which Trading Accounts Does XM Open When You Register?
- Real trading account
A Standard account on MT5, in US dollars. - Demo account
A demo account for practice. The XM demo account guide shows how to use it. - Password
Both trading accounts use the password of your XM profile, which you chose when you registered.
To log in to MT5, you also need the server and the MT ID. On Home in the Members Area, choose the trading account on the account card. Then tap Manage, and tap MetaTrader Login Details.

A trading account that you add later has its own password. You choose it when you open that trading account. The XM login guide shows which password goes where, and what to do if you cannot log in.
What Documents Does XM Need?
XM needs two documents: one proof of identity and one proof of residence.
- Proof of identity
A passport, a national ID card or a driving licence. The document must be valid and show your full name, your date of birth and your signature. - Proof of residence
A bank statement from the last 6 months, or a recent bill for electricity, water, gas, phone or internet. It must show the address that you registered.
XM checks the documents within 24 hours and sends you an email. You can trade and withdraw after that.
To upload them, open your profile in the Members Area, then Settings, Documents and Upload Documents. XM accepts photos and PDF files up to 5 MB.

The XM verification guide shows each step with screenshots, and what to do if XM rejects a document.
Who Can Register with XM?
- Age
18 or older, or the legal age in your country if that is higher. - Country
Choose your country of residence from the list. If your country is not in the list, XM does not accept clients from it at the moment. XM does not serve residents of the United States, Canada, Israel or Iran. - One XM profile
One profile is enough. You can add up to 10 trading accounts to it in the Members Area.
