Which XS Account Type Should You Choose?
For gold, the XS Standard account costs the least, $10.75 for 1 lot on MT5 after the rebate, and it needs no minimum deposit. The XS Pro and Elite accounts cost about $1.30 more on the same trade, and you need USD 500 to start on both.
ForexFanClub pays you a rebate on every lot that you trade at XS, and this rebate returns part of your cost. The table shows each account before and after the rebate.
1 lot of gold on MT5
| Cost before the rebate | After the rebate | |
|---|---|---|
| XS Standard account | $19.20 | $10.75 |
| XS Elite account | $14.83 | $12.03 |
| XS Pro account | $14.85 | $12.05 |
| XS Extra account | $36.17 | $20.26 |
The order of cost changes when you subtract the rebate. Before the rebate, the Standard account is the most expensive of Standard, Pro and Elite, but Standard becomes the cheapest after the rebate. So the rebate decides which XS account is cheapest for gold.
What you trade and how much you deposit also decide which account suits you.
- Trading gold
The Standard account is the best choice for gold. Standard costs the least on gold after the rebate, and Standard is also the cheapest on Bitcoin, so open a Standard account (opens in a new tab) with any deposit. - Trading currency pairs
The Standard, Pro and Elite accounts are close, and the cheapest account changes from pair to pair. On USDJPY, Standard costs the least, and on EURUSD, Elite costs the least, so check your pair in the cost panel of our XS rebate guide first. - Trading silver
The Elite account is the best choice if your deposit reaches USD 500. On 1 lot of silver, Elite costs $98.60 after the rebate, and Standard costs $131.00, so open an Elite account (opens in a new tab) for silver. - Starting small
The Cent account lets you trade at one hundredth of the normal lot size, and you need no minimum deposit. Cent suits your first trades with real money, so open a Cent account (opens in a new tab) to start.
You can hold several account types in one XS profile. So you can start on Cent or Standard and add Pro or Elite later, when your deposit reaches USD 500.
Why Is the XS Standard Account Cheaper for Gold?
On MT5, the XS Standard account returns 44% of the gold spread as your rebate, and the Pro and Elite accounts return a set $2.80 a lot. So the wider spread on Standard also brings a larger rebate, and you receive $8.45 on 1 lot of gold.
Before the rebate, 1 lot of gold costs $19.20 on Standard and $14.85 on Pro, so Standard starts $4.35 more expensive. The rebate then subtracts $8.45 from Standard and only $2.80 from Pro, and Standard becomes $1.30 cheaper.
This calculation means the Standard account is the cheaper choice only with the rebate. If you open your XS trading account without a partner that pays a rebate, Pro or Elite costs less on gold. Because the Standard rebate is a share of the spread, the rebate also rises when the gold spread widens and falls when the spread narrows.
Is the XS Pro or Elite Account Cheaper?
On gold, the XS Pro and Elite accounts cost almost the same, about $12 for 1 lot after the rebate. The Elite account has the tighter spread, and Elite charges a $6 commission per lot. XS deducts this commission in full when you open the trade.
On other instruments, one account is cheaper than the other. The table shows one instrument where Elite is cheaper and one instrument where Pro is cheaper.
1 lot after the rebate
| XS Pro account | XS Elite account | |
|---|---|---|
| Silver (XAGUSD) | $103.00 | $98.60 |
| USDJPY | $7.97 | $9.21 |
The Pro and Elite accounts have the same USD 500 minimum deposit, so the instrument that you trade decides between the two accounts. If you trade silver, Elite is cheaper. If you trade USDJPY, Pro is cheaper, and the Standard account is even cheaper on USDJPY.
For other currency pairs, indices and metals, compare Pro and Elite in the cost panel of our XS rebate guide, which shows the cost after the rebate for each account.
Which XS Account Is Best for a Small Deposit?
The XS Cent account is the best start for a small deposit, because every trade on Cent is one hundredth of the same trade on the Standard account. Your profit, your loss and your cost are also one hundredth, so you can trade with real money in very small amounts.
The Cent account has the same spreads as the Standard account, and the rebate on Cent is one hundredth of the Standard rebate. So in pips, a trade costs the same on Cent and on Standard. Our cent account comparison compares the XS Cent account with the cent accounts at other brokers.
The Cent account works differently from the Standard account in three ways. You trade only currency pairs and metals on Cent, Cent runs on MT5 only, and XS closes your trades at a margin level of 10% instead of 20%.
XS also lists a Micro account on its website, but the Micro account is not on the account opening screen of our XS profile. The Cent account covers the same need, so choose Cent for small trades. If you want normal lot sizes with a small deposit, the Standard account also has no minimum deposit.
Should You Open an XS Extra Account?
The XS Extra account pays the largest rebate of any XS account, but 1 lot of gold still costs $20.26 on Extra after the rebate, and this cost is almost twice the $10.75 on the Standard account. XS built the Extra account for partners that want a higher rebate, so Extra also has the widest spread.
The Extra account has two other limits. Your trade must stay open for at least one minute to earn the rebate, and the other accounts require only 30 seconds. One order on Extra can also be at most 100 lots in the day and 50 lots at night.
So a large rebate does not mean a cheap trade. Compare the cost after the rebate, as in the table for 1 lot of gold, and do not choose an account only by the size of the rebate. Our XS rebate guide shows that cost on every instrument.
How Do the XS Account Types Differ?
The XS Cent, Standard, Pro and Elite accounts differ in minimum deposit, commission, lot size and stop out level, but the leverage, the margin call level and the smallest trade are the same.
Same on Cent, Standard, Pro and Elite
- Maximum leverage of 1:2000
- Margin call at 40% margin level
- Smallest trade of 0.01 lot
Different by account
- Minimum deposit of USD 500 on Pro and Elite
- A $6 commission per lot on Elite only
- Cent trades at one hundredth of the size
- XS closes trades at 10% margin level on Cent, not 20%
- Cent offers forex and metals on MT5 only
- Shares only on Standard and Pro, on MT5
The margin call is only a warning, and XS closes your trades at the stop out level. So with a small balance, the stop out level decides how far the price can move against your trade before XS closes your trades. The XS margin calculator shows the margin of your trade on each account.
How Do You Open a Second XS Account Type?
You add a new trading account of the type you want in your XS profile, and your current trading account stays exactly the same. XS sets the account type and the base currency when XS opens a trading account, so you must open a new trading account to change the account type or the base currency.
Log in to your XS profile (opens in a new tab).
Tap the menu button at the top left, open Accounts and choose Open Live Account.

Choose MT5 or MT4 in Platform and tap Continue. The Cent account is on MT5 only.

Choose the account type in Type. On MT5, the list shows the six types that you can open.

Choose the Leverage and the Currency, and tap Continue. Check the summary and tap Continue again.

XS opens the trading account at once. The screen shows the account number, the server and the password for MT5 or MT4, and XS also sends them to your email.

Each trading account has its own balance. So you move money to the new trading account with Transfer Funds in the Funds menu. You can hold up to 10 trading accounts of each type on each platform.
How Do You Get a Rebate on Every XS Account Type?
ForexFanClub pays a rebate on the XS Standard, Cent, Pro, Elite, Extra and Classic accounts, if you opened your XS profile through ForexFanClub. The rebate differs by account and instrument, and the XS rebate guide shows the rebate amount on each account.
To receive the rebate, register with XS through the button below. Every trading account that you open in that XS profile then earns the rebate, regardless of the account type.
If your XS profile already has another partner, XS keeps your profile with that partner. The XS rebate guide explains how to get the rebate in that case.
XS Account Types FAQ
- Which XS accounts are swap-free?
-
The XS swap-free status covers every account type, and this status applies to all the trading accounts in your XS profile.
XS offers the swap-free status in selected countries. XS applies the status automatically in some countries, and you must request the status in other countries. The XS swap guide shows how many days each instrument stays swap-free.
- What about the XS Classic, Plus and VIP accounts?
-
The VIP account needs a deposit of USD 100,000, and the Classic and Plus accounts are in the same partner group as the Extra account.
The Classic account shows a published EURUSD spread of 1.6 pips, and the Standard account shows 1.1 pips, so the Standard, Pro, Elite or Cent account fits better for most traders.
- Can you hedge on every XS account type?
-
Yes. You can hedge on every XS account type, and a buy and a sell of the same size on the same instrument need no margin.
So a hedged pair of trades leaves your free margin for other trades, and the XS margin calculator shows the margin of a single trade.

The cost of each trade
The costs are the 24-hour averages in our rebate ranking, updated on 15 October 2026 at 17:05 UTC. We read the spread separately from Standard, Extra, Pro and Elite MT5 accounts in US dollars and save samples at regular intervals. The commission is the amount for opening and closing 1 lot, and the rebate is what ForexFanClub pays back on the same lot on MT5. On MT4, the Standard rebate on gold is a set amount per lot instead of a share of the spread. We checked that the same accounts come out cheapest in the rankings of 14 and 31 October 2026. We do not measure Cent, and XS publishes the same spreads for Cent and Standard.
The account conditions
The minimum deposit, the commission, the platforms, the instruments, the leverage, the margin call and stop out levels and the order limits come from the XS account pages, read on 31 October 2026. The account opening steps and the account list come from our own XS profile, read on 1 November 2026. The swap-free rules come from our XS swap guide, and the hedging rule from the XS account pages.
