Where the figures come from

We read each instrument’s swap rate, unit and contract size from XS MT5 accounts, separately for Standard, Extra, Pro and Elite. A sample is saved every 30 minutes.

From 17 October 2026, our broker changes page lists each large change to these XS.com swap rates.

How the amounts are worked out

Each sample is converted to US dollars with prices from the same collection. The samples from the past 24 hours that could be converted are averaged, and that average is scaled to the lot size you select. Rate details shows how many samples were used for buy and for sell.

The result is the amount for one rollover at the normal rate. On the triple swap day, the amount is three times as large. The 30-day estimate scales the weekly swap schedule to 30 days and holds the rate and the conversion steady, so your own dates, holidays and swap-free days change the real figure.

What Does a Night of Swap Cost at XS.com?

At XS.com, a gold position can be swap-free for its first five days, if XS.com gives your country swap-free days.

After those five days, a 1-lot gold buy pays about $83 for each night, and a 1-lot sell position receives about $18 from XS.com. The amount is the same on all four XS.com accounts.

$83 a night is large next to the cost of the trade itself. On the cheapest XS.com account, opening and closing 1 lot of gold costs about $15 in spread and commission. So from the sixth day, each night of swap costs more than five times the spread and commission.

1 lot held for 1 night

Buy positionSell position
GoldPays $82.50Receives $18.48
SilverPays $69.90Receives $8.85
EURUSDPays $8.66Receives $1.26
BitcoinPays $68.37Pays $68.37

The swap depends on the direction of your trade. On gold, silver and EURUSD, a buy pays and a sell receives. On Bitcoin, both sides pay, so a Bitcoin position costs money every night whichever way you trade.

Wednesday costs three times as much on gold and currency pairs, because the Wednesday swap covers the weekend. A gold buy held over Wednesday night pays about $248, and a full week comes to about $578.

Our view

If you hold gold buys for several days, the swap-free days save you more than your choice of XS.com account. The five days can save up to $578 on 1 lot, but only on a gold buy that you open early in the week.

The swap is the same on every account, so the spread decides which account costs less. The XS.com spread page compares the four accounts on gold.

How Many Swap-Free Days Does XS.com Give?

On gold, XS.com gives up to five swap-free days. This applies to eligible clients in selected countries where most people are not Muslim, and each instrument has its own number of days.

Normal swaps apply from the first day.

The days count on the calendar from the day you open the position, and Saturday and Sunday count too. So the day you open a gold buy decides how many nights of swap the five days save.

1 lot of gold, buy position

Opened onYou saveSwap starts
Monday$578Next Monday
Tuesday$495Next Monday
Wednesday$413Next Monday
Thursday$248Next Tuesday
Friday$248Next Wednesday, triple swap

A gold buy opened on Monday stays swap-free through Friday, so the five days cover the whole trading week. A gold buy opened on Thursday or Friday uses two of the five days on the weekend, so it saves $248 instead of $578.

On some markets, the swap-free days do not cover the triple swap night. On silver, XAUEUR (gold priced in euros), oil and the stock market indices, you still pay three nights of swap on the triple swap day, even when that day is one of your swap-free days.

For example, a 1-lot silver buy opened on Tuesday has Tuesday and Wednesday as its two swap-free days. Tuesday night costs nothing, but on Wednesday night the position still pays about $210. In the tool, the silver row carries the label 3× swap on Wednesday still applies.

During the swap-free days, you neither pay nor receive a swap. That is a saving on a gold buy. A gold sell normally receives about $18 a night on 1 lot, so on a sell, the swap-free days stop that payment to you. XS.com: swap-free accounts (opens in a new tab)

Who gets the swap-free days?

XS.com gives the swap-free days automatically to clients in some countries, and to some other clients on request.

XS.com does not publish the list of countries, so ask your XS.com account manager whether your country qualifies. You can also ask through the live chat on the XS.com website (opens in a new tab).

Once your XS.com profile has swap-free status, every trading account in it has the status too. The status works on all four account types, on MT4 and MT5. XS.com adds no fee in place of the swap and keeps the same spreads.

Clients in 19 Muslim-majority countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, receive an Islamic account automatically. The tool shows the swap-free days for the selected countries where most people are not Muslim.

Can XS.com take the swap-free days back?

Yes. If XS.com decides that a client uses the swap-free days to make a profit without risk, it can cancel swap-free trading, charge the swap for past nights and cancel the profits. XS.com names hedging as an example, both inside XS.com and with another broker.

For example, a gold buy at XS.com during the swap-free days, held against a gold sell at another broker that receives the swap, is hedging with another broker. To compare these terms with other brokers, see our swap-free brokers page.

When Does XS.com Charge the Swap, and Which Day Is Triple?

XS.com charges the swap on every position still open at 23:59 server time. A position opened at 23:58 pays the swap one minute later, and a position opened at 00:00 pays nothing until the next 23:59.

XS.com’s server time is GMT+3 while summer time is in effect in the United States, and GMT+2 for the rest of the year. So the swap falls at 20:59 UTC in summer and at 21:59 UTC in winter. The tool shows times in UTC. XS.com: swap rates (opens in a new tab) · XS.com: trading hours (opens in a new tab)

On one night each week, the swap is three times the normal amount, because the triple swap covers the weekend. The day is different for each type of market.

MarketsTriple swap day

Each row in the tool shows the triple swap day for that instrument. Bitcoin and the other crypto trade every day, and their triple swap still falls on Friday.

How Do You Get a Rebate on Your XS.com Trades?

The swap is only one cost of a trade. Every trade also pays the spread, and the Elite account adds a commission. The XS.com spread page compares the four accounts on those costs.

ForexFanClub pays a rebate on qualifying trades at XS.com, credited separately from the swap. So the amounts in the tool show your cost before the rebate.

To receive the rebate, create your XS.com profile through the button below. XS.com then records ForexFanClub as the partner of your trading accounts.

If you already have an XS.com profile with another partner, register again through the button with a different email address. If your profile is already with ForexFanClub, open one more trading account inside it. The XS.com rebate guide shows each step.

XS.com Swap FAQ

Is gold swap-free at XS.com?

Gold (XAUUSD) has up to five swap-free days at XS.com, for eligible clients in selected countries. After the five days, a 1-lot gold buy pays about $83 a night.

Your XS.com account manager can confirm whether your country qualifies. You can also ask through the live chat on the XS.com website (opens in a new tab).

Why do the buy and sell amounts differ?

XS.com prices each side of an instrument separately. On gold, you pay the swap on a buy and receive the swap on a sell, so use the amount for the side that you plan to hold.

Why do the amounts in the tool differ from my statement?

The tool shows a 24-hour average rate for the lot size that you set, before any swap-free days. Your statement shows the actual rate for each night charged and whether swap-free days applied.

To compare the two, open the row in the tool. In Rate details, check the age of the swap rate.

What does a month of holding cost?

Open the row in the tool and read Without swap-free · 30-day estimate. That amount is the normal swap for 30 days at today’s rates, before any swap-free days.

Swap rates change from week to week, so check your trading account statement for what you actually paid.

The Rest of the XS.com Numbers
